The Acta Medica Philippina (AMP), the National Health Science Journal mobile apps are now downloadable for free in both Apple and Google Play store.  It was formally launched during the Philippine National Health Research System Week in coordination with the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) last August 24-25, 2017 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.

This initiative of Acta is in line with its thrust in enhancing its online presence by making it more accessible and visible to mobile users since smartphones have become a new tool for interactions, browsing and services online. The mobile users can access the journal anywhere, anytime in a user-friendly mobile apps design.  This will also encourage students’ and young audiences’ participation in Acta's social features such as comments, likes, in-app messaging etc.  They will be able to review, share or discuss articles as well. These apps are integrated to Facebook for easy account registration.

Dr. Jose Ma. C. Avila, Editor-in-Chief of AMP gave a short introduction of the mobile apps and encouraged everyone to support this milestone of Acta.

The launching was led by Dr. Jaime C. Montoya, Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, and UP Manila Vice Chancellor for Research and AMP Editorial Board member, Dr. Eva Maria C. Cutiongco- de la Paz. Dr. Salome N. Vios, College Secretary of the UP College of Medicine (UPCM) also graced the successful event as representative of UPCM Dean Agnes D. Mejia.
